We know that competition dancing help develops dance form and trends and plays a huge part in providing opportunities for individuals to set and achieve personal goals, perform and master their art. We couldn’t support this without the role of qualified, experienced professionals who are able to evaluate and rank performances relevant to the various dance styles.
NZRDI also recognises the vital role the professional dance organisations play in the development of qualified and experienced professional adjudicators in supporting dancers in their career development and the many years these organisations have played to establish an experienced group of adjudicators
NZRDI understands that well trained, and suitability qualified adjudicators a critical to the success of an industry where performance and achievement are cornerstones to the future talent. We recognise that our various community partners (dancers, supporters, studio principals, competition organisers) place a high level of trust in our adjudicators. We also know that our community partners want to ensure that all adjudicators are trained and appropriately skilled in the dances and style in which they adjudicate.
That’s why we have a framework that all recognised dance bodies who provide recognised qualifications for NZRDI professional must adhere to. Its our way of ensuring you can continue to have confidence in the skills and capability of the adjudicators at any NZRDI event.
If you are a dancer, a professional looking to sit exams, or a competition organiser, you can have confidence that the following organisations have been assessed and have achieved the standard to be recognised within the NZRDI professional Qualification Framework.

It is just another way we grow our dance community.
Professional Dance Organisations
Having your professional qualifications recognised by the New Zealand Recreational Dance Incorporated against their professional qualifications framework, gives you confidence that your process meet a high international standard. It helps to provide a level of transparency and structure that will increase the confidence in potential candidates and allows successful candidates the opportunity to be able to adjudicate and NZRDI competitions and events in the styles and dances they have qualified in.
Our NZRDI framework details the minimum standards required by your organisation to have it’s qualifications accepted for adjudication purposes. As an evidenced based framework, it provides flexibility to support existing policies and procedures and allows organisations to determine How they will achieve the framework requirements.
